When Steve first told me that Kayla was expecting, the very first thought that ran through my head was “oh man, what a lucky baby!” and I truly meant it.
Below are just a few (of many) reasons I believe that thought rushed into my head so quickly.
1. Steve and I share an office and have for the last three years. I can’t say for sure, but I am almost positive that I am the one to thank for Steve’s ability to block out incessant noise and for his incredible amount of patience. Two things that I know from experience come in handy when raising children. You my friend, are welcome.
2. I believe that children are good judges of character. From the moment Kayla first walked into our house, my daughter, Mia, was drawn to her. They had an immediate connection and it was no different when our son Luca was born. I’ve heard Steve say on more than one occasion that whenever they go to a party, Kayla is like a child magnet.
3. Over the past three and a half years, I’ve gotten to know Steve and Kayla pretty well. They are kind, they are compassionate, and they are absolutely crazy about each other. They have such an optimistic view of their future (and for good reason) and you can see that they are committed to helping each other grow as they venture through life together. To bring a child into this family is truly going to be a blessing not only to them but to their daughter as well.
Congrats again Kayla and Steve!
